  • Stability and sterility control of preserves (with or without species identification)
  • Identification of microorganisms by cultural and/or microscopic techniques, using API strips and Molecular Biology techniques
  • Evaluation of the bactericidal or fungicidal activity of compounds.
  • Sensory analysis

MOLDS AND MYCOTOXINS ANALYSES

  • Isolation and identification of molds at genus or species level
  • Analysis of mycotoxins in food (ELISA or HPLC method): aflatoxins, zearalenone, fumonisins, ochratoxins, trichothecenes (deoxynivalenol, toxin T-2, diacetoxyscirpenol), patulin, etc. Analysis of conjugated mycotoxins.
  • Determination of the effectiveness of adsorbent compounds of mycotoxins

OTHER RELATED SERVICES

  • Determination of the water activity of food
  • Microbiological control of air, surfaces and handlers
  • Food handlers courses
  • Realization of practical training courses and/or recycling in microbiological analysis techniques for small groups
  • Scientific advice for the implementation of the HACCP system

The laboratory has the complete equipment of a microbiology laboratory, including laminar flow cabins, autoclaves, stoves, incubators, orbitals, masticators, pH-meters, shakers, microscopes, centrifuges, etc. On the other hand, it has equipment for the determination of mycotoxins by ELISA techniques (plate reader) or HPLC (HPLC and UPCL chromatographic system with fluorescence and diode array detectors). It also has a molecular biology laboratory equipped with what is necessary to carry out the identification of species, including a PCR.
